Join ex-firefighter and travelling woodsman, Gazza Butcher at Wilderness Wood, in East Sussex for a full day of bushcraft and survival.

Learn the skills and knowledge needed to live in the wild places together.

Expect a practical day, full of hand-picked techniques, tailored to your needs and abilities but pushing your edge in just the right way for maximum enjoyment.

There will be group and solo activities, a fun, family opportunity to show yourselves, and each other, just exactly what you are capable of.

Add to that a little healthy competition, and an emergency rescue scenario to finish,
this promises to be a great day of exploration and fun.

Here’s just some examples of what your day could have in store:

Learn to light fires in the rain
How to use a knife and saw safely
How to track animals and humans
How to tie reliable knots
Put up a tarp shelter and stay warm and dry
How to assess and fix an emergency, fast
How to carry an injured friend out of the woods
How to disinfect water and know it is safe to drink.

conditions

Young people (8 to 17) must be accompanied by a participating adult parent or guardian.

Cost for the day is £60 for adults and £50 per teen (8 to 17).

The day will run from 1000 to 1500 to give us plenty of time.

We will be in the woods all day regardless of the weather so bring your favourite packed lunch (full details of what to bring are provided at booking).
